Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - From April 23 to 25, the Commission Pope Benedict XVI established in 2007 to study the issues of great importance for the life of the Catholic Church in China will meet at the Vatican. The Superiors of the Dicasteries of the Roman Curia are part of the Commission, that are experts on the matter, and some representatives of the Chinese Episcopate and religious congregations. The statement released by the Vatican Press Office informs that in previous meetings the theme was on the formation of seminarians, consecrated people and priests . This year, however, the formation of the lay faithful in the light of the situation of the Catholic community in China and in the '"Year of Faith," will be taken into consideration, which will be celebrated in the Church from 11 October 2012 to 24 November 2013. Attention will be paid also to the progress made in formation programs for priests, seminarians and consecrated people, and what remains to be done for their adequate preparation to service tasks, which they are called upon to carry out within the church and for the good of society.
