ASIA/VIETNAM - Resignation and succession of the Bishop of Cân Tho

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Pope Francis has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Cân Tho (Vietnam), presented by His Exc. Msgr. Stephanus Tri Buu Thiên. He is succeeded by His Exc. Msgr. Peter Le Tan Loi, currently Coadjutor Bishop of the same Diocese.
His Exc. Msgr. Peter Le Tan Loi was born on June 19, 1970 in Cân Tho.
He attended the St. Pierre Doan Cong Quy Major Seminary in Cân Tho and was ordained a priest on June 22, 2000 for the Diocese of Cân Tho.
He has held the following positions and carried out further studies: Deputy Parish Priest of Phung Hiep (2000-2004); Studies for the Licentiate and Doctorate in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome (2004-2011).
Since 2011 he has been a resident Professor at the St. Pierre Doan Cong Quy Major Seminary in Cân Tho. (Agenzia Fides, 1/1/2025)
