EUROPE/POLAND - Prayer vigil for beatification of John Paul II, promoted by the Pontifical Mission Societies

Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - The Pontifical Mission Societies of the Archdiocese of Czestochowa has organized a prayer vigil and a Marian Appeal for the beatification of Servant of God John Paul II on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of his death, which falls on April 2, and shortly prior to the Feast of Divine Mercy, which he so loved and promoted. The prayer, involving other groups of young people and representatives of ecclesial movements, will take place Saturday, April 10 at 9pm in the Church of St. James the Apostle in Czestochowa.
Also, in Zawiercie in the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, the Archbishop of Czestochowa, Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak, will preside over "a march of silence and prayer" and a Mass for the beatification of John Paul II. In preparation for the Feast of Divine Mercy, Holy Masses and prayers for John Paul II are being held throughout the Archdiocese of Czestochowa and throughout Poland.
