EUROPE/POLAND - “Star Singers” of the Holy Childhood Association of Czestochowa conclude Christmas activities in an encounter with the Archbishop

Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) – A delegation of children from the Archdiocese of Czestochowa who are part of the “Star Singers” of the Holy Childhood Association met with Archbishop Stanislaw Nowak of Czestochowa, in the Archdiocesan Headquarters, in conclusion for their Christmas missionary activities. According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, the group was led by Fr, Jacek Gancarek, Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies of the Archdiocese of Czestochowa. Dressed as the Magi, with their star and their sons, during Christmas time the “Star Singers” visited the homes of families in Czestochowa, collecting donations for their counterparts who suffer throughout the world. In particular, the Christmas campaign, which began on December 26, 2009 and concluded on the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2010, was dedicated to offering spiritual and material support to children in Pakistan. After their encounter with the Archbishop, the “Star Singers” will also visit the headquarters of the Catholic weekly “Niedzela.” The initiative of the “Star Singers” began in Germany and has in recent years extended to other European nations and even to other continents.
