EUROPE/POLAND - “We Tell the World: God is Love” - Holy Childhood Association in Poland helps children in Pakistan

Warsaw (Agenzia Fides) – “We Tell the World: God is Love” is the theme for the Holy Childhood Association's activities for the pastoral year 2009/2010. Especially in their Christmas Campaign, starting December 26 and ending with the solemnity of the Epiphany, January 6, 2010, members of the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood in Poland will make every effort to help the children of Pakistan, both materially and spiritually.
According to information sent to Fides by National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland Msgr. Jan Piotrowski, December 17 there was a press conference at the Secretariat of the Bishops' Conference in Warsaw, in order to present the missionary initiative. "With radio, television and various magazines, word of the initiative has been widespread in Poland,” says Msgr. Piotrowski. “We hope that the parishes, to which we have long since sent the material for the animation, are sensitive to this missionary apostolate.”
Thanks to the national HCA team, led by National Secretary Ms. Anna Sobiech, they have made their contributions a student of Pakistan, Syed Mohammad Mehdi; a missionary in Congo Brazzaville of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, Sister Grazyna Mech; and the children Leopoldow the Diocese of Siedlce. Last year, with the donations collected from the Polish HCA supported 14 projects to help children in Papua New Guinea. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 19/12/2009)
