Warsaw (Agenzia Fides) – This year, on Thursday, January 8, the Star Singers once again met with the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazzi.
"The Apostolic Nunciature is a tangible sign of the Holy Father's presence and closeness for the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), and especially for the children who are Star Singers," Sister Monika Juszka (RMI), Secretary of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland, who accompanied the children along with the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland, Father Maciej Bedzinski, told Fides. “When we prepare for the meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, we tell our children and young people that we will be meeting a close collaborator of the Holy Father and his representative in our country.”
Archbishop Filipazzi, who has also worked in mission territories, was delighted this year, as in previous meetings, by the visit of the young missionaries, whom he encouraged in their efforts to help children in need. This year, the donations collected by the Star Singers will benefit projects in Sri Lanka, a country where Archbishop Filipazzi served as Secretary of the Nunciature. “Meeting the Nuncio and hearing that the Holy Father is praying for us is a moving experience for the children and young people,” adds the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland.
This year, the delegation of the Star Singers visiting the Nuncio came from Lipce Reymontowskie in the Diocese of Łowicz. The archbishop also showed the children the nunciature's chapel, where they all prayed together for the missions, the missionaries, and the children in the mission countries. Finally, the nuncio reminded them of the different Christmas traditions in Italy and Sri Lanka. (EG) (Agenzia Fides, 10/1/2026)
