ASIA/EAST TIMOR - President Ramos-Horta and Cardinal do Carmo da Silva provide update on preparations for Pope Francis' visit

Dili (Agenzia Fides) - The President of the Republic of East Timor José Manuel Ramos-Horta visited Salesian Cardinal Virgílio do Carmo da Silva, Archbishop of Dili this morning. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Archdiocese of Dili and was an opportunity for an exchange of information and evaluations regarding the preparation of the next apostolic visit of Pope Francis to the country.

"The meeting - reports to Fides Don Bento Pereira, National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies of East Timor - was announced some time ago by the President. The conversations made it possible to check the progress of the process preparation for the visit of Pope Francis, who will be in our country from September 9 to 11.
