AFRICA/NIGERIA - Father Gabriel Ukeh, kidnapped on June 9, is free again

Abuja (Agenzia Fides) - The Nigerian priest Gabriel Ukeh, kidnapped on Sunday, June 9, has been released (see Fides, 10/6/2024).
This was announced by the spokesman for the Diocese of Kafanchan, Father Gabriel Okafor. "Thank God, we can announce that our brother and priest, Father Gabriel Ukeh, who was kidnapped on Sunday, June 9, from the rectory of 'St. Thomas' parish in Zaman Dabo, Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, where he carries out his pastoral ministry, has been released safely." According to Father Okafor, "Father Gabriel was happily welcomed back to his parish on Monday, June 10, in the evening around 9 p.m."
