New Delhi (Agenzia Fides) - The son of a Protestant pastor was kidnapped in the Indian state of Andra Pradesh. According to preliminary police investigations, 20-year-old Issac was kidnapped by Maoist groups. So far, the Naxalites have not made any request for his release. According to witnesses, a group of 20 Maoists raided the Pastor’s house and kidnapped the young man. Last month, the Maoists had kidnapped three leaders of the "Naxalites" government which is the name by which the Maoist rebels in India are called. The term comes from the village of Naxalbari in the State of West Bengal, famous for the peasants uprising in May 1967. (PA) (Agenzia Fides 06/11/2015)
