Geneva (Agenzia Fides) - After four years of "break" due to the pandemic, CEME - an organization that brings together all the Secretariats of Missionary Childhood of the countries of Europe - met at the ecumenical center of Chateau de Bossey. The members of CEME are the National Directors of the PMS and the National Secretaries of Missionary Childhood in Europe. "The meeting went well - says Sister Roberta Tremarelli, Secretary General of the Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood - Almost all countries were represented. The theme addressed in all our activities was that of holiness, a theme that should have been addressed before the pandemic". Monsignor John Putzer, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of the Holy See in Geneva, who opened the works on Sunday, March 27, with a Holy Mass, encouraged the participants to be "ambassadors of Jesus Christ" and thanked for their support for the mission of the Church and for the commitment to work with children.
Instead, the speakers presented the theme of holiness also from an ecumenical point of view, given the nature of the center that hosted the meeting which ended on March 30. "There was the sharing of material, news," best practices", a moment in which those responsible of Missionary Childhood in some countries presented what they do and how the Society is organized in their respective country - explained the Secretary General of POSI -. The purpose of this conference is precisely to share the realities of the Holy Childhood Society, the material and the proposals to strengthen the charism, motivation and belonging to the universal Church".
The three days took place between prayer, academic interventions, reports by CEME members, round tables, discussions and exchanges, and ended with the election of the new President of CEME: Nancy Camilleri, National Representative for the management of Malta for Childhood, and the designation of Romania as the host country for the next Conference to be held in 2024.
