Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On April 25, 2019 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed the rev. Nicolas Lhernould, of the Archdiocese of Tunis as National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in Tunisia for five years (2019-2024).
The new National Director was born in Courbevoie (France) on March 23, 1975 and was ordained a priest in Tunis on May 22, 2004. After studying at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, in France, Department of Social Sciences, he obtained the Baccalaureate in theology (2003) at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, and a Licentiate in theology and patristic sciences (2007) at the Augustinianum, in Rome. Since his ordination he has been parish priest in two parishes, President of the Study Center of Carthage, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Tunis. He is the author of publications and articles.
