Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - "Mary - Model of missionary zeal" was the theme of the meeting and prayer vigil promoted by the Pontifical Missionary Union of Poland, which took place on 6 and 7 December at the National Shrine of Jasna Góra. According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, the meeting was attended by over 300 people: seminarians, people in charge of the missions of religious congregations, missionary animators, people who are preparing for missionary work in the Missionary formation Center, members of the Living Rosary.
The missiological session this year was placed in the context of the preparation for the IV National Congress, to be held in June 2015, and as part of the Year of Consecrated Life which has just begun.
Mary was presented as the "Great Missionary", who is a model for the faithful missionary commitment. During the Vigil they prayed so that missionary zeal increases in all believers, for new missionary vocations and for missionaries. In particular the participants thanked the Lord for the release of the Polish priest, a missionary in the Central African Republic. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 11/12/2014)
