EUROPE/ALBANIA - "Protagonists of education, promoters of development": strengthening of primary schools in Shkodra

Scutari (Agenzia Fides) - 600 children and 8 schools, 220 teachers and headmasters have benefited from the project to strengthen primary schools in Shkodra, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and carried out by AVSI and the local NGO SHIS.
The objective was to improve access to education of children through the optimization of educational services and the strengthening of mechanisms of protection and social supervision within eight primary schools in the urban and rural areas of Shkodra (Scutari city and villages, Malaysia and Madhe, Pukë).
During the period of the implementation of the project, students and teachers were able to increase their teaching skills through the participation in training sessions accredited by the Albanian Ministry of Education. The impact of the project was personally witnessed by children, parents, teachers and social operators, through a short film made for the occasion and sent during the conclusive conference of the project in Shkodra. The event, which was titled "Protagosnists of education, promoters of development" was attended by 110 people, including project beneficiaries, community representatives, local authorities, and civil society.
