VATICANO - Le risposte della Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede a due quesiti sul Battesimo

Città del Vaticano (Agenzia Fides) - La Sala Stampa della Santa Sede ha pubblicato il 29 febbraio le risposte della Congregazione per la Dottrina della Fede a due quesiti proposti sulla validità del Battesimo conferito con le formule “I baptize you in the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Sanctifier” e “I baptize you in the name of the Creator, and of the Liberator, and of the Sustainer”. Di seguito il testo del comunicato:
Quesiti
Primo: È valido il Battesimo conferito con le formule “I baptize you in the name of the Creator, and of the Redeemer, and of the Sanctifier” e “I baptize you in the name of the Creator, and of the Liberator, and of the Sustainer” ?
Secondo: Devono essere battezzate in forma assoluta le persone che sono state battezzate con queste formule?
Risposte
Al primo: Negativamente.
Al secondo: Affermativamente.
Il Sommo Pontefice Benedetto XVI, nel corso di un’Udienza concessa al sottoscritto Cardinale Prefetto, ha approvato questa Risposta, decisa nella Sessione Ordinaria di questa Congregazione, e ne ha ordinato la pubblicazione.
