Rome (Agenzia Fides) - The V General A ssembly of the Missionary Community of Villaregia, an association founded in 1981 with headquarters in Villaregia (Rovigo), will be the first in 40 years of history to take place "remotely", in compliance with the current rules of contrast to the Covid-19 pandemic. During the works, the functions of the President and the Presidency Councilors will be renewed and the guidelines and action lines for the coming years will be defined. The Assembly, which will be held from June 29 to July 18, was initially scheduled in attendance, will be attended by 69 members, representing the 16 Community headquarters in Africa, Latin America and Italy. The Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life authorized the Assembly to be held electronically. Moments of spirituality, group work and plenary sessions will mark the assembly work. There will be two themes at the center of the assembly work: "Authority and Synodality" and "Apostolic Mission". These and other subjects, proposed during the event, will be discussed in working groups and then in plenary assembly, until the final document is drawn up. During the last week there will be the election of the new President, through a certified electronic voting system, which will be followed in the following days by that of the Presidency Councilors.
