AFRICA/KENYA - "Pope Francis' visit is a blessing and an opportunity for Kenyans"

Thursday, 5 November 2015 evangelization

Nairobi (Agenzia Fides) - "The fact that the Pope will begin his visit in Africa here, in this great nation, is a blessing and an opportunity for us Kenyans", said His Exc. Mgr. Alfred Rotich, Ordinary Military, President of the Secretariat for the Pope's visit to the African country, in an interview with NTV Kenya, reported to Agenzia Fides.
"The Holy Father will bring blessings and solidarity, comfort and hope in a time when many of us live in despair. (...) The Pope's visit provides an opportunity for Kenyans to discuss issues like the environment, justice, social cohesion, moral integrity, staying together through dialogue", said Mgr. Rotich.
According to Mgr. Rotich, there are some problems in the preparation of the Pope’s visit. With regards to security Mgr. Rotich has invited the faithful who live in the places that will be visited by the Holy Father to be aware of the environment they live in, wondering who their neighbors are. This is also a way to obtain what Mgr. Rotich hopes remains of the papal visit: a more united and supportive Country. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 05/11/2015)
