AFRICA/BURUNDI - The situation is getting worse; UN and African Union open an investigation into the violations of human rights

Bujumbura (Agenzia Fides) - "Every day there are deaths and clashes in different areas of Bujumbura" report to Agenzia Fides local sources from the capital of Burundi, in the throes of a serious crisis due to the third mandate obtained by President Pierre Nkurunziza in violation of the Constitution. "Yesterday, October 28, some neighborhoods were blocked by security forces and people could not enter or leave".
"Among other things, a grenade hit the center of the Catholic youth Kamange causing severe damage and killing some policemen" continue Fides sources.
"The clashes have now expanded to at least 2-3 provinces in the country, in particular in Makamba, where there were clashes last week, and now in Gitega and Mwaro causing the death of at least 7 people". Gitega is considered the electoral stronghold of President Nkurunziza. "As mentioned several times the army is divided", our sources add.
