Puebla (Agenzia Fides) - The Catholic community of Puebla made a complaint to the Attorney General for the disappearance of Fr. Erasto Pliego de Jesus, parish priest since 2011 of Our Lady of the Nativity in Cuyoaco, in the Archdiocese of Puebla: this was reported by the Archbishop of Puebla, His Exc. Mgr. Victor Sanchez Espinosa, adding that the priest has always maintained good relations with everyone in the community and no one knows the reasons for his disappearance.
Speaking to the local press, the Archbishop confirmed that last Friday, November 13, the faithful noted the absence of the priest and informed the Archbishop, who told the Episcopal Vicar of the area and the priest in charge of the town of Libres to substitute him temporarily. The note sent to Fides by the Archdiocese informs that, according to the information of residents, it seems that the priest disappeared already in the morning of 13 November, and there is also no trace of his white car. His house was found in a mess, furniture drawers on the floor and traces of blood on a chair and carpet. The Archdiocese thanked the municipal authorities of Cuyoaco who immediately organized research groups together with the villagers to find him. The Archbishop of Puebla informed the priest's family of his disappearance, since he is a native of the city of Axochiapan, Morelos, and is in constant contact with relatives.
