Cochabamba (Agenzia Fides) - The 100th Assembly of the Episcopal Conference of Bolivia (CEB) takes place these days, from November 5 to 10, in Cochabamba. In this second meeting of 2015, the Bolivian Bishops must elect the new authorities of the Episcopal Conference, analyze social issues and schedule relevant ecclesial events. "A historically important meeting because it shows the path we have carried out as Bolivian Episcopal Conference, namely, the fact of working in communion" said His Exc. Mgr. Eugenio Scarpellini, Bishop of the Diocese of El Alto and current Secretary General of the CEB in the statement sent to Fides.
Other topics that will be discussed are: evaluation of Pope Francis’s visit; the V National Eucharistic Congress in Tarija; The Permanent Mission; the Holy Year of Mercy and the V American Missionary Congress (CAM 5) to be held in Santa Cruz in 2018. On November 7, the Bishops will celebrate a Mass in the parish church of the Jesuits to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the Assembly. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 06/11/2015)
