Neuquén (Agenzia Fides) - The Bishop of Neuquén, His Exc. Mgr. Virginio Bressanelli SCJ, has asked the provincial government not to suspend subsidies to Catholic schools and announced the presentation of a bill for a fair contribution of the State to religious education.
Mgr. Bressanelli, through a pastoral letter, sent to Fides, presented the results of his meeting with Dr. Ana Maria Pechen, vice governor.
The Bishop of Neuquen made this request on behalf of the Catholic Education Council (CDEC), which brings together 17 educational institutions recognized by the diocese and serve more than 8,000 students.
The pastoral letter also highlighted that evangelical schools have joined the initiative. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 04/11/2015)
