Arequipa (Agenzia Fides) - On Thursday, October 22, the third edition of "EXPO charisma 2015" will begin, organized by the Conference of Religious of Arequipa (Peru). This year the initiative takes a special characteristic linked to the Year of consecrated life that is about to conclude. It is expected to bring together more than 32 religious congregations to awaken new vocations, revealing the beauty of consecrated life as a testimony of joy. According to information sent to Fides, the Exhibition will run until Saturday, October 24, in the Parish "Mother of Mercy" in Umacollo, and will be open from 9 am to 12:30 pm and from 3 to 6pm.
The Expo is part of the context of the activities promoted for the missionary month of October. In fact, in Peru, as in many parts of the world, World Mission Day was celebrated on Sunday, October 18 with a prayer for the missions and the collection of offerings in the parishes, but on 22 and 23 October a public collection for the missions, under the name of "Domund for the Missions" will take place all over the national territory. Thousands of volunteers from Catholic schools, lay groups and parish members will flock to the streets to collect a contribution from passers-by for the missionary work of the Church.
The Expo aims to bring together most of the various religious congregations, male and female, of the Archdiocese of Arequipa, giving them the opportunity to show young people, adults and visitors, the various charisms and above all to share personal experiences of response to the call of the Lord. For the first time this year even the seminarians of the "St. Jerome" Seminary and some youth movements of the different parishes will participate, as well as the religious.
