Comodoro Rivadavia (Agenzia Fides) - The Episcopal Conference of Argentina issued a document on the forthcoming presidential elections of 25 October, urging the various government institutions to "create the objective conditions that ensure transparent conduct".
The Bishop of Comodoro Rivadavia, His Exc. Mgr. Joaquín Gimeno Lahoz, in an interview to a local radio station, Radio del Mar said that the objective of the document is to remember that "the exercise of the vote also expresses the nation we want. What we all want is consolidate and develop the democratic system in our country, that is why we talk about transparency, about an attitude of respect and sincere dialogue".
In this regard, Mgr. Gimeno recognized that there must be a "triple responsibility", ie, the State, political Parties and citizens in order to succeed in the recomposition of "social relations". We are brothers, committed to building a country in which we must all work for the common good".
"I think we have to learn to choose before voting" emphasized the Bishop again, and to succeed in this we must be informed on the proposals. The voter must "know and define the proposals that best respond to his principles and convictions" taking into account "the reliability and consistency of those seeking our votes. This is what we have to focus on". (CE) (Agenzia Fides 06/10/2015)
