Iguala (Agenzia Fides) - The parish canteen of St. Gerard, in the city of Iguala, Mexican state of Guerrero, was transformed into a hall where there is an exhibition of dozens of photographs of missing persons. Most of them come from the north of the State, the poorest in Mexico and one of the most devastated by violence.
According to the database of the Research Committee, every week people who disappear increase. Over the last year, every Tuesday, the parish of Iguala welcomes families who have denounced disappearances.
Other cases have been recorded in the northern State of Nuevo Leon, where 31,000 human remains between 2011 and 2015 have been located, which has led to the identification of 30 people.
A document presented at the end of August highlights 860 violations of human rights against activists and social promoters that occurred between June 2014 and May 2015, as well as an increase in arbitrary detentions. In Iguala, a group of civilians engaged in the search of missing family members, located 104 bodies, although only nine were identified. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 30/09/2015)
