Chimbote (Agenzia Fides) - "In order not to feel even more disappointed by its authorities, the city of Chimbote, after condemming mayor Victoria Espinoza Garcia to seven years in prison, the current deputy mayor Julio Cortez Rojas should step aside in order to solve the three legal proceedings against him". This is what the Bishop of the Diocese of Chimbote, His Exc. Mgr. Angel Simon Piorno said during a press conference held yesterday, September 23, in which he stressed that the decision would give peace to the people of Chimbote.
"If one is involved in a court case, one should resign immediately. Mr. Cortez should step aside to restore peace to the people of this city and in the interest of the proper functioning of the municipal management", said the Bishop.
