AMERICA/PARAGUAY - The Church condemns the criminal violence that killed three people and a politician

Asuncion (Agenzia Fides) - The Episcopal Conference of Paraguay (CEP) released a statement in which it expresses its dismay regarding the criminal violence that killed the politician Magdaleno Silva and three others who were with him in the neighborhood of Yby Yau, in Concepcion. The Bishops call on the authorities to guarantee the life and safety of persons.
Magdaleno Silva Davalos was killed by gunmen on Tuesday, May 5. He was with his son Fernando, 22, and two friends, Felix and Isaac Peña Peña, father and son, all killed by the assassins.
"The Church condemns all forms of violence and, especially, the killing of people", says the document of the CEP, sent to Fides. "Legal measures are necessary in order to clarify this criminal act". (CE) (Agenzia Fides 07/05/2015)
