Beijing (Agenzia Fides) - In preparation for the new school and working year, different Continental Catholic communities launched new catechism classes. From Beijing to He Bei, from Zhe Jiang to Fu Jian, summer courses have concluded and new courses have opened, sometimes with the presence of the diocesan Bishop. According to information gathered by Fides Agency, in the parish of St. Salvatore of Beijing, the 39th catechism course was inaugurated on September 2. In addition to the catechists and priests, even spiritual guides welcomed the new catechumens, these personally accompany them along their journey of faith formation. The parish sees the course as the most important task of evangelization and pastoral work, so all mobilized to help new brothers and sisters to join the community. The pastor told the catechumens: "It is true that you are not yet baptized, but you can begin to pray the same. Because by praying we learn to communicate with God, to hear the Word of God and establish a relationship with God. "
Meanwhile, about 200 young people from the parish of Da Zhai, in the diocese of Han Dan, received the sacrament of Confirmation at the end of the summer holidays. Appointed by the Bishop of the diocese, the diocesan Chancellor presided over the celebration of the Sacrament encouraging young people to be "sentinels of Christ, to bear witness to the Lord." During the celebration of the Eucharist, the Chancellor also presented the certificate of the summer catechism course to 20 children. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 11/09/2012)
