Tuesday, 7 August 2012

Beijing (Agenzia Fides)-Two weeks of intense spirituality and renewal of the awareness of the mission of the new evangelization. This is what was experienced by the 21 nuns of the diocesan congregation of St. Joseph in Beijing who followed a course of permanent formation at the Catholic Institute for Religion & Society in Hong Kong at the invitation of Father Luke Tsui Kam Yiu, Director of the Institute. As reported to Fides Agency, during the two weeks of study and sharing, led by Fr. Tsui, the sisters strengthened their faith, deepened the importance of living the spirit of evangelization, becoming a living Gospel. In a word "faith must be well integrated with life, as the Church with society" to promote the inculturation of faith and culture in Chinese society today. "The sacraments, especially the Eucharist, Sacred Scripture, community life, the charitable works are the necessary elements, especially for those who lead the consecrated life."
The Catholic Institute for Religion and Society was founded on July 18, 1986 by a group of priests, women religious and lay people from Hong Kong, to meet the need of pastoral formation in view of the handover of Hong Kong on July 1, 1997 and the changes observed in the local society. Its purpose is to dedicate itself to the integral development of individuals and society in the light of the Catholic faith. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 07/08/2012)
