ASIA/TAIWAN-The delegation of Taiwan: leaving for Dublin to attend the International Eucharistic Congress

Tai Pei (Agenzia Fides) - The faithful who will represent the local Church of Taiwan at the International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin, will leave on June 8 for their pilgrimage to Ireland. Led by His Exc. Mgr. John B. Lee Ke Mian, Bishop of the Diocese of Hsin Chu, the delegation will attend the Congress in Dublin from June 10 to 17, to "learn and be inspired, to be in communion with the universal Church, to bring the zeal of the Eucharistic of the Universal Church in Taiwan," said Mgr. John B. Lee during the solemn ceremony of the mandate to the pilgrims that took place on May 19. Moreover, "accompanied by the maternal protection of Our Lady, we will also offer best wishes on behalf of the Church of Taiwan to the universal Church." According to information gathered by Fides Agency, Mgr. Otfried Chan, Secretary General of the Taiwan Regional Episcopal Conference, presided the second preparatory meeting of formation for the delegation of Taiwan on the theme "Spirituality and the conversion in the Sacrament of the Eucharist" , during which he encouraged the delegates to "experience the meaning of the Eucharist in an authentic way," deepening the knowledge of faith and the history of the Church.
