ASIA/CHINA - Towards Vocation Day: in the Diocese of Heng Shui 5 priests ordained 5 and 9 women religious professed their vows

Heng Shui (Agenzia Fides) - In view of the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, to be held next Sunday, April 29, the Diocese of Heng Shui (Original Jing Xian) in He Bei province, had the joy of welcoming five new priests who were ordained yesterday, April 25, during a solemn celebration presided by the ordinary Bishop, His Exc. Mgr. Peter Feng. According to information which Fides received, over 800 faithful attended the Mass that was celebrated by ninety priests. There were also 30 major seminarians of the Major Seminary of He Bei and sixty nuns of the diocesan Congregation of Our Lady of Good Counsel. Mgr. Feng encouraged the new priests to serve the Church following Christ’s footsteps, devoting full time to evangelization. In the same diocese of Heng Shui, on 24 April 9 nuns of the diocesan Congregation of the Lady of Good Counsel professed their vows: 5 perpetual and 4 temporary vows. At the end of the Mass, the Superior thanked the Bishop, the priests and all the faithful for their support and their prayers for vocations. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 26/4/2012)
