Tuesday, 6 March 2012

Shi Jia Zhuang (Agenzia Fides) - The Eucharist is at the center of Lent and of the lives of the continental Catholics, who are living intensely the "period" in preparation for Easter in communion with the Universal Church, according to Pope Benedict XVI’s recommendations "We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works (Heb 10, 24)".
According to information reported to Fides by Faith bulletin of He Bei community, for the first time in history, the diocese of Wen Zhou held the daily Eucharistic Adoration during Lent, praying for the unity of the diocese. Each day a parish in the diocese has organized an hour of adoration with readings from the Sacred Scripture, praying the Rosary. According to the pastor of the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, the initiative, "The Eucharist Adoration is a spiritual cleansing during the 40-day Lenten path. It renews us in the love of Christ".
The parish of Fei Xiang, of the diocese of Han Dan, visited the diocese of An Yang (in the province of He Nan), where daily Adoration has taken place for 13 years. In addition, priests, women religious and extraordinary Ministers bring the Eucharist to remote areas or communities that do not have resident priests for pastoral care. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the Bishop, the faithful have overcome many logistical difficulties. During Lent, the diocese invites the faithful to participate during Adoration because it "helps to better conform to Christ".
