Beijing (Agenzia Fides) - "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Rom 10:15) was the theme of the Campaign of Evangelization launched by the parish of Ding Hai, in the Zhe Jiang Province, for the Chinese New Year. According to information gathered by Fides, during the two weeks of intense spiritual life, focused on evangelization, the community wanted to raise awareness to the baptized about their missionary commitment, strengthening formation and spirituality. A course on spiritual formation was held from January 27 to 28, a liturgy course from 3 to 4 February, and a course of evangelization from 5 to 7 February. Hundreds of faithful therefore lived the holiday season on the occasion of the New Year as an opportunity to improve themselves and to be ready to say "Here I am Lord, send me!": as what happened during the missionary mandate entrusted to the Eucharistic celebration that marked the aim of the initiative.
Evangelization was also the theme of the annual Meeting for the priests of the diocese of Ning Xia in the north-west of the continent, held on February 16. Summarizing the work of the past year, which saw 180 baptized, the Center for Evangelization and Pastoral Care was born in early 2011, emphasized the organization of 4 formation courses and the opening of new churches. The priests have uniformly confirmed that evangelization is the reference point for their pastoral work for the year 2012, with a focus on faith formation to welcome the Year of the Faith proclaimed by the Pope.
After 30 hours of travel, the Group of Evangelization of the Diocese of Gui Zhou managed to reach the Catholic community of BuY, with thousands of faithful in a remote mountain area, on February 1. In 15 days, the members of the group, composed of priests, women religious and laity, illustrated the main contents of faith to this devoted community, but less educated than others in terms of faith. Thanks to the efforts of the group, not only has the knowledge of the faith of the faithful improved, but their contribution to evangelization was also strongly stimulated.
