ASIA/CHINA - The suffering of the Church in China continues

Erenhot (Agenzia Fides) - Five priests of the underground church of the diocese of Suiyuan, in the region of Inner Mongolia, were taken by police in the city of Erenhot. According to information by UCAN agency, the five priests were attending a meeting at the house of a layman to discuss the transfer of some pastors, when about thirty policemen and government officials, raided the house and took away priests, without giving any explanation for their arrest. Other priests and lay people of the community have asked us to pray that they may soon return safely to their ministry. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 02/02/2012)
