Madrid (Agenzia Fides) - The Spanish Episcopal Conference has awarded "Bravo! 2011" for the category of new technologies, to the site rezandovoy.org. The site, created by the Society of Jesus at Valladolid in collaboration with a large group of lay people to offer prayers in audio over the Internet, was presented by the diocese of Valladolid in the competition for this award, as a new means of evangelization. By assigning the award the Episcopal Conference wanted to "recognize, on behalf of the Church, the meritorious work of all those professionals of communication in its various forms, who distinguished themselves for the service in favor of human dignity, human rights and Gospel values". Along with this project, there were eight other awards in different categories. rezandovoy.org was born last March 9, Ash Wednesday, and since then the rate of downloading of the prayers has increased continuously up to a million and half people. Currently it has about 11,000 listeners each day in 138 countries around the world, although the majority of users are Spanish, Mexican and Argentinians. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 25/11/2011)
