Panama (Agenzai Fides) - Fighting Poverty to eradicate child labor is the goal of the awareness campaign against the worst forms of child labor recently launched in the Republic of Panama. This scourge affects approximately 90 000 children, who are seriously abused including sexual exploitation. In the state of Panama, 60% of the rural population is poor. 96.06% of the indigenous live in poverty. Across the country, one in four people are poverty-stricken and are less than 13 years of age.
