Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - " Christifideles laity and the mission of the lay faithful in the 21st Century" is the theme of the Course organized by the Catholic Diocesan Catechetical Centre of the Diocese of Hong Kong to clarify and deepen the identity and the mission of the lay faithful in the Church of the 21st century. According to information gathered by Fides, the Course enters into the journey of the Year of the Laity announced by the diocese and will be held on the first three Sundays of the month of December: 4, 11 and 18. During the Course, qualified experts of the Church and pastoral operators with great experience will start from the post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation study of Pope John Paul II "Christifideles Laity" and other teachings of the Magisterium after the II Vatican Council, to analyze the relationship between priests/religious and laity in the service of the Church. In addition, it will deepen the development of the parish in a changing world and what the lay can do today for the life of the Church. The Centre invites participants to read Christifideles Laity in advance in order to ensure a better outcome of the course. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 09/11/2011)
