Buenos Aires (Agenzia Fides) - The ninth Public Education Forum has just been celebrated, organized by the Vicariate of Public Education of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires, attended by 5,523 teachers of 250 schools. The priest Juan Torrella, Episcopal Vicar responsible of Public Education, has defined this traditional meeting "a feast of education", which for 9 years has offered, in a free and open way, formation to school teachers. In his welcome message, the priest thanked educators "for their commitment and creativity in assisting children and adolescents to being more happy and full of humanity". The Vicar concluded his reflections with the blessing and St. Francis of Assisi’s prayer for peace. Among those present for the day: the Minister of Public Education, Esteban Bullrich, prof. Enrique Martin, representative of the Ministry of National Education, representatives of religious communities and institutions, along with more than 5,000 public, private elementary and secondary school teachers. The IX Forum of Education was held on October 26 in Tecnopolis, which is a Mega Exhibition Centre where an exhibition on science and technology is currently being held. The Centre was chosen by the organizers because the central theme of the IX Forum was "The school of the future". (CE) (Agenzia Fides 28/10/2011)
