AMERICA/BOLIVIA - The Second Social Week reflects on the theme of "Power"

Tuesday, 25 October 2011

Cochabamba (Agenzia Fides) – From October 25 to 27 the second social week organized by the Diocesan Commission for justice and solidarity of Cochabamba in collaboration with the Social Pastoral of the local Caritas will be held at the university auditorium at Campus Ramon Rivero. The initiative is conducted with support from the Bolivian Catholic University.
The Social Week was created to provide an opportunity for discussion and reflection on the political, social and economic life, in the light of the Social Doctrine of the Church, in order to encourage the laity to be protagonists of social reality.
This year's theme is "Power" and its use in the public interest. Among the speakers are Professor Jorge Komadina (who will hold an introduction on the current reality of Bolivia), former President of Bolivia, Eduardo Rodriguez Veltzé (with a report on the topic: "Power: Serve or Submit" ) and Father Behimar Sánchez, Director of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Catholic University, (with the theme "Ethics in Power")
