ASIA/INDIA - Human Rights, part of the Church’s mission, "contribution to the common good"

New Delhi (Agenzia Fides) - The protection of dignity and fundamental human rights is an integral part of the Church’s mission as they "allow you to seek true justice and true peace": says the Indian Church, presenting the "Human Rights resources kit ", a box set consisting of a DVD and a booklet, prepared by "Justice, Peace and Development " within the Episcopal Conference. The presentation of the kit, which will be sent to all dioceses, was attended by Cardinal Oswald Gracias, President of the Episcopal Conference, and Msgr.Yvon Ambroise, President of "Justice, Peace and Development".
The box explained Fr. Charles Irudayam, Secretary of the Office "Justice, Peace and Development", wants to be a tool that provides resources and training tools to facilitate the work, and raise awareness in all the diocesan delegates, in order to insert the protection of human rights in the pastoral strategy . "The protection of human rights, in the promotion of justice and peace, educates the people to respect human dignity and allows to search for justice and true peace", said Msgr. Ambrose, inviting the faithful to contribute to "building a culture of human rights in India ", which means contributing to the common good of the country. (PA) (Agenzia Fides 13/10/2011)
