ASIA/CHINA - Perpetual vows for four religious women Missionaries of Our Lady of Sorrows

Tai Yuan (Agenzia Fides) - Four diocesan religious women of the congregation of the Missionaries of Our Lady of Sorrows of the diocese of Tai Yuan, mainland China, professed their perpetual vows on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on September 8. According to information received by Fides, the diocesan Bishop, His Exc. Mgr. Li Jian Tang, presided the solemn celebration in the Cathedral, with His Exc. Mgr. Meng Ning You, Coadjutor, both recognized by the Holy See. 35 priests concelebrated the Mass, which was attended by more than 2 thousand faithful, including parents, relatives and friends of the 4 nuns. On the same occasion the other nuns of the congregation renewed their vows and their commitment to the mission, also in view of the patron feast on Sept. 15, the day the Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, which the congregation is dedicated to. To live this important moment, the sisters began the spiritual preparation with a spititual retreat and the novena far-back. (NZ) (Agenzia Fides 13/09/2011)
