AMERICA/MEXICO - II Meeting of the Catholic radios on the Internet: Identity and Mission. Challenges and confrontations.

Mexico City (Fides Service) – To analyze the current condition of the radio and to plan its future is the main objective of the second Meeting of the people Responsible of Catholic Radio on the Internet. Participants will share their experiences, concerns and expectations about the future of this means of communication. Experts of Radio EWTN, one of America's most popular Catholic radios in the world will offer their support during the event.
The meeting, organized by the Episcopal Commission for Pastoral Communications of Mexico, ECPCM, with the theme: "The Radio in the Church, Identity and Mission. Challenges and Confrontations".
In a note sent to Fides by LACCOC (Latin American and Caribbean Catholic Organization for Communication), states that the various phases of radio communication will be analyzed, in order to identify models and ways of working able to improve planning, organization, production, issuance and evaluation of programs. The characteristics of interactive communication and networking will also be studied.
Father Antonio Camacho, executive secretary of LACCOC says: "We are confident that the training will greatly improve the quality of our radio programs and contribution to evangelization in the context of the Continental Mission in each of our dioceses".
The meeting will be held from 16 to 18 August 2011 in the Episcopal Conference of Mexico in Cuautitlan Izcalli, State of Mexico. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 30/07/2011)
