Valparaiso (Fides Service) - Thousands of Chilean children of the Pontifical Society of Missionary Childhood, with the slogan "Childhood Missionary: one soul, one heart", celebrated yesterday, Sunday, June 19, the Feast of the Holy Childhood. The activities and celebrations almost everywhere, were linked to the Continental Mission, which this year aims to reflect and promote the spirituality of missionary communion.
On Saturday, June 18, despite the bad weather, challenging heavy rains and winds, about 500 children together with their leaders and parents, gathered in the city of Valparaiso for a large community feast. In the middle of the day there was the Eucharistic celebration, presided by Fr. Gianluca Roso, National Director of the PMS and concelebrated by Msgr. Jaime Fernandez, the PMS diocesan Director of Valparaiso. The Mass was preceded by the prayer of the Rosary Missionary, animated by the children who prayed and performed songs and dances of the five continents.
"The children – is read in a statement sent by the PMS of Chile to Fides - reflected on the mystery of God based on drawings, songs and animations, guided by the slogan 'one soul, one heart,' they wanted to see, so to speak, the Heart of God, the deeper reality, which must be Unity in the Trinity, a supreme and profound communion of love and life. God is One, as He is all Love and only love, but because He is love, openness, acceptance, dialogue. With enthusiasm the children committed themselves to becoming the living presence of this love, they want to, in front of a divided world, to become one soul and one heart " the statement concludes.
