Thursday, 26 May 2011

Cusco (Agenzia Fides) - The Catholic Church in Peru will celebrate next Sunday, May 29, the Day of Missionary Childhood, the feast of Christian children who live with joy the gift of faith and pray that the light of Jesus reaches all children in the world. In the Archdiocese of Cusco, the responsible of the Pontifical Mission Societies, Father Antonio Arias Cruz, has prepared for the Day teaching the children to have a universal mission awareness and solidarity, encouraging them to share their faith, love, hope and property materials, with the homeless and abandoned children in Peru and around the world. The priest - through the bulletin of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference sent to Fides - explained that the money raised from the collection of this Day of Missionary Childhood, created through the donations of individuals, will be sent to the Holy See to help the missionary work of Pope Benedict XVI in favor of the children in need in the world.
