VATICAN - 10 years dedicated to teaching and spreading the Social Doctrine of the Church

Thursday, 9 September 2010

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – This will be a significant step for the two-year course in the Social Doctrine of the Church, that in the 2010/2012 academic years will be taking place for the 10th time. The course is sponsored by the Vatican Foundation "Centesimus Annus - Pro Pontifice" in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Center of the Pontifical Lateran University. The lessons, structured to take place on a monthly basis, will be held in Rome according to the plans, terms, and conditions of participation outlined on the Foundation's website. Entries are limited to 25 participants and applications (downloadable versions are available on the Foundation's website) will be accepted according to the order in which they are received. Personal dignity, universal destination of goods, solidarity, subsidiarity, the common good, pluralism, and social participation are the foundations of the Social Doctrine of the Church. They represent the "common grammar" for peacemakers. At the end of the biennium, the defense of a dissertation at the Pontifical Lateran University marks the final step in attaining a university level Diploma in Social Doctrine of the Church. Classes will begin October 2. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 09/09/2010)
