AMERICA/CUBA - 10th Catholic Social Week “on line”

Havana (Agenzia Fides) – Catholics in Cuba will celebrate the 10th Catholic Social Week in Havana 16 - 20 June with the main slogan: “Witnesses of Hope and Builders of Peace”. The news was sent to Fides by the Council for the Laity of the archdiocese of Havana. For the first time this year the Social Week Conferences will appear immediately as they are given in a local Catholic magazine Espacio Laical and on the web site of the archdiocese's Justice and Peace Commission. To encourage participation in the event the web site shows an article taken from a Espacio Laical Supplement “The Catholic Church in Cuba: a bridge for dialogue and encounter”, which underlines that positive results must be seen “with humility to increase awareness that openness to encounter and dialogue, to understanding and consensus, are the best service Catholics can contribute for the general common good of our country ”.
