Cochabamba (Agenzia Fides) - From December 6 to 13, the Archdiocese of Cochabamba will be holding “Charity Week” which has among its objectives improving the experience of charity in the parish community through awareness of various expressions of service and sharing goods. This activity, organized by Caritas in the parishes (which belongs to the Diocesan Caritas), also aims at creating a climate of solidarity in the parish community, to discover the needs of charity through knowledge of the Social Doctrine of the Church.
Caritas has provided other material to promote the celebration of the Week including, among others, a liturgical guide and a poster. The "Charity Week" was launched yesterday, Sunday, December 6, at all Masses in the Archdiocese. The program includes: on December 7 and 8: activities in every parish, December 9: a conference on "The parish Caritas in the social teaching of the Church," in the Archdiocesan Office Building, December 10: a meeting on experiences of Caritas in the parish, December 2 and11: activities in each of the parishes. Sunday, December 13: Archdiocesan Day of Solidarity. In every Mass this Sunday, a collection of solidarity will be taken up. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 7/12/2009)
