EUROPE/POLAND - Czestochowa archdiocesan Pontifical Society Missionary Childhood pilgrimage to mark 150th anniversary of the PMS in Poland and 50th anniversary of the encyclical Fidei Donum

Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - Saturday 15 December Czestochowa archdiocese will hold a Pontifical Society Missionary Childhood pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Pajęczno (Czestochowa) to mark 150th anniversary of the Pontifical Mission Societie in Poland and the 50th anniversary of the encyclical Fidei Donum by Pope Pius XII. Participants will include the staff of the archdiocesan Missionary Childhood office led by the diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies Fr Jacek Gancarek, and numerous children and adults members of various groups: missionary volunteers, animators, Rosary groups, Militia Immaculatae, PMS parish groups of the archdiocese of Czestochowa. A special Mass at the church of the Nativity will be presided by national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland Mgr. Jan Piotrowski. During the pilgrimage there will be the presentation of new material for missionary animation and pastoral care and a special mission sending ceremony for the children present. “Children are the hope of the Church in Czestochowa and we think they can give new spiritual impulse to the Pontifical Mission Societies in our archdiocese ” said Fr Jacek Gancarek.
