Bucaramanga (Agenzia Fides) – In recent days the most recent project initiated by the Guanellian missions in Colombia has taken off: an online school to achieve an high school diploma. “The project,” says Father Cosimo Pedagna, promoter of the initiative, in a note sent to Fides “stems from the perception that many young people and adults have not completed high school in Colombia and may not be able to even begin because they need to work.” Hence the idea came about of offering an opportunity for cultural promotion and then the opportunity to work to as many people as possible. “The structures of the current school in Bucaramanga, which already accommodates 425 children aged 4 to 18 years, did not allow the entry of new students. With the online school we can overcome these limitations of space and time, allowing many people throughout Colombia, to enrol and study regularly. (AP) (17/1/2011 Agenzia Fides)
