Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 9 December 2006, appointed Ms Marie T. Deans National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Canada (Toronto) for a five year term (2006-2011).
The new National Director has held several positions of responsibility in Catholic schools in Toronto, since 1999 she has been Principal of St. Joseph’s Morrow Park High School. She obtained a Masters in Education at the University of Toronto and a Diploma in Dispute Resolution at York University. She specialised in Religious Education and took several university courses including Church History, New Testament, Guidance and Counselling, Race and Ethnic Relations … besides various charges in the field of education at the parish level Ms Deans has been a Marriage Preparation Facilitator, Eucharistic Minister, Minister of Children’s Liturgy, member of the Parish Council.
