National Director of Pontifical Mission Societies confirmed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples on 30 December 2006 appointed Rev. Edgar Orozco Alfaro National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Costa Rica for a five year term (2006-2011). Rev. Edgar Orozco Alfaro is a member of the diocese of San Isidro de El General.
The new national director was born on 21 February 1953 and ordained a priest on 28 November 1987 for the diocese of San Isidro de El General. Since his ordination he has been assistant parish priest in various communities; diocesan youth pastoral delegate 1987 to 1992 and diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies 1993 to 2006.
