Ahmadi (Agenzia Fides) - "Liveliness, joy, community spirit characterized the World Children's Day that we celebrated here in Ahmadi together with the entire parish community". This is what Father Roswin Pirese (OfmCap.), parish priest of the parish of Our Lady of Arabia (OLA) in Ahmadi, told Fides, looking back on World Children's Day.
The Church of Our Lady of Arabia (OLA), also known as the "Mother Church" (see Fides, 12/4/2024), is the first Catholic church in Kuwait and celebrated its 75th anniversary (1948-2023) last year.
"It was a resounding success," continued the parish priest from Goa. "The active participation of the children and catechists demonstrated the vitality and spirit of our Church. This celebration not only honored the young children, but also strengthened the values of togetherness."
"One of the highlights of the celebration was when the children stamped their hands in bright colors on a large canvas to symbolize their unique contribution and presence in the parish community. It was beautiful to see everyone participate, young and old. We are very grateful to all the volunteer catechists, parents and parishioners who contributed to the success of this event and made it an unforgettable day," he concluded.
"We are moving towards the future. The mission continues...", said Father Roswin at the conclusion of the Diamond Jubilee on December 8, 2023. (AP) (Agenzia Fides, 1/7/2024)
